Nez Magazine Edition 8 is a unisex unscented magazine. Yvresse, Dior Addict, Opium, Obsession... Perfumery has never been afraid to flirt with the language of transgression, tapping into an imagery of excess and uncontrollable desires. But can perfume really be addictive? In this issue we question what "olfactory addiction" means and how much our relationship with fragrance is linked to the need for escapism, consolation or identity. After all, perfumery itself is fueled by a historical addiction: that of alcohol, an indispensable component that has marked the evolution of the entire industry. From its smoky origins to the ethanol era and the link between smell and psychoactive substances, we explore the fine line between sensory pleasure and need. For while it is true that dogs' noses can sniff out drugs, ours guide us, often unconsciously, to what attracts, comforts or captures us.
More information
In each issue, the journey into the olfactory universe will make various stops, passing through the "Odorama" dossier, in which there will be a focus on raw materials by investigating their use and symbology, and then taking a leap into the past thanks to curiosities of relevant personalities in the world of perfumery with the "Correspondences," until imagining what stars of the past would choose upon entering an imaginary "Boutique." Finally, an agenda enumerates olfactory events not to be missed: books, exhibitions or other events (increasingly numerous) related to perfume. This is just a foretaste of what awaits you as you flip through the magazine and explore its topics page by page.
