The originality of the Geranium fragrance is given by the association of the flower with the woods. In the composition of this fragrance two varieties of geranium were used: the geranium bourbon, coming from plantations of the Island of Reunion, and the geranium of Africa, coming from Egypt. The essential oil of geranium is obtained by steam distillation of the leaves and stems before flowering.
